Serengeti
The Serengeti, whose Maasai name ‘Siringet' translates as ‘the endless plains', offers unparalleled ornithological opportunities and an unrivalled natural arena wherein the glory and harmony of nature can be appreciated as nowhere else on earth. Fact File
Area:  14,760 sq km.
Location:  200 km west of Arusha: the park’s northern boundary abuts with the Kenya border, its western boundary reaches Lake Victoria.

Wildlife highlights: wildebeest, zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, lion, spotted hyena, hunting dog, cheetah, black rhino, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, topi, eland, jackal and otter. Birds: over 350 recorded species including 34 raptors.

NGORONGORO
Often referred to as ‘the eighth wonder of the world' the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas. A World Heritage Site, it is also one of the largest volcanic craters in the world (almost 20 kilometres wide, 610-760 metres deep and covering a total area of 264 square kilometres).

Fauna: Large population of ungulates in the crater and high numbers of predators, particularly lion. The only absentees from the usual East African large mammals are the giraffe, impala and female and young elephants.
Birds: Abundant birds include ostrich, kori bustard, Verreaux’s eagle, Egyptian vulture, rosy-breasted longclaw and lesser flamingo.

Day 1 - 2: Larnaca - Arusha

Flight Larnaca - Arusha via stopover.

Arrive at Arusha’s Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your customer service representative. Transfer to Arusha town situated at the foot of Mount Meru. Check in to the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha Hotel (BB), a modern hotel nestled against one of the most majestic backdrops of the picturesque Mount Meru, sister peak to Africa's highest summit, Mount Kilimanjaro. The afternoon will be at leisure. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3: Fly from Arusha to Serengeti

After breakfast transfer to Arusha Airport for morning scheduled flight to Seronera Airstrip of the Serengeti National Park and to Acacia Seronera Luxury, which is ideally located for safari game drives as well as optional activities such as balloon safaris

Pick up/met at the airstrip by our driver guide and transfer to camp for check-in

Lunch and afternoon game drive

Dinner and overnight at the camp

Day 4: On safari in the Serengeti

With a full day’s game-driving in the park, your options are wide. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the camp, where guided nature walks can also be taken. Game drives can be taken morning and afternoon. Whilst the annual migration is the Serengeti’s most famous attraction, the Park is also renowned for its lion, many of which have been fitted with radio-transmitter collars so that their movements may be tracked, and additionally for its wealth of cheetah, zebra, giraffe, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, eland, impala, klipspringer, hippo and warthog.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After breakfast depart the camp not later than 08.00 AM with game drive en-route, drive through the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, stopping en route for a visit to the world-famous Olduvai Gorge Paleolithic site and reputed Cradle of Mankind'. Thereafter proceed leisurely to Ngorongoro Crater to check in at Ngorongoro Serena for lunch in the afternoon proceed to visit a traditional Maasai Homestead within Ngorongoro Area

The remainder of the day spent at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, which offers the finest location of all the crater rim lodges, lying on the southern rim of the crater, directly above the yellow fever trees of the Lerai Forest.

Day 7: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara

After an early breakfast at the lodge descend into the crater for a half-day game drive in the crater.  

Ngorongoro Crater: Often referred to as ‘the eighth wonder of the world’ the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife arenas. A World Heritage Site, it is also one of the largest volcanic craters in the world (almost 20 kilometres wide, 610-760 metres deep and covering a total area of 264 square kilometres). An utterly unique biosphere, the Crater harbours grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a freshwater lake and a glorious variety of birdlife, all enclosed within its towering walls. Due to its high concentration of wildlife, close-range viewing opportunities and striking scenery it is also Tanzania’s most visited destination

Day 8: Lake Manyara to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport

Check out of the lodge after breakfast

Drive into Lake Manyara National Park for morning game drives

A packed/box lunch will be provided from Escarpment Luxury to allow participants flying from Manyara Airstrip to connect in good time, for participants departing via Arusha time permitting stop for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge

Transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight.
