Every place on Earth is fascinating and unique, but Peru with its so many natural and cultural treasures is a country that manages to stand out. There is an incredible amount of interesting history easily accessible to any traveler, whether it is through visiting a museum, wandering around a town or village, or hiking to one of the hidden Inca ruins. When traveling to Peru you'll most likely fly into Lima, a city rich with Pre-Columbian ruins and enchanting Spanish Colonial architecture.

Day 1-2: Arrival in Lima

After arrival at the airport of Lima, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at your disposal to get to know Lima as you please. Overnight stay at the hotel in Lima.

Day 3: Lima to Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the airport for your onward flight to Cusco, otherwise known as Quechua, which means "Navel of the world". In the afternoon, we will go on a tour of the city, visiting the main city square, a Cathedral of the 17th century, the Koricancha, a famous temple dedicated to the Sun God, and the Inca streets. Later on, we will visit the surrounding ruins of Cusco, which include: Kenko, a religious center of complex form, with a semicircular amphitheatre, which has about twenty stone seats and an idol at the center; Puca Pucara: an Inca military construction, that consists of terraces and stairs; Tambomachay: also known as “The Inca's Bath”, concerning the canalization of water, and Sacsayhuaman: a cyclopean fortress built in order to defend Cusco from the enemies. Day 4: Cusco - Pisac market - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit at the Indian market of Pisac, during which the entire town becomes a fair, mainly on Sundays, offering the visitors a colorful and folkloric spectacle full of fresh fruits and vegetables. There you will have the opportunity to buy handicrafts brought from all over the region, such as ponchos, woolen weaves and sweaters, jewels, antiquities, and many more. You will discover the local tradition such as bartering, still practiced by the indigenous, and the folklore culture expressed through the people's clothes. Also we'll have lunch at a local restaurant. Later on, we continue to visit Ollantaytambo, one of the last sites built by the Incas before the Conquerors arrival. One big part of the work remains unfinished, since the abandoned stones were the dumb witnesses of the battle between Manco II against the invaders. Badgered by the conquerors, the Inca soug

Day 5: Cusco - Poroy - Machu Picchu - Poroy – Cusco

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Poroy train station for your next destination, Aguas Calientes. After your arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will have the opportunity to go on a guided visit to the site of Machu Picchu, "The lost city of the Incas", discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. After an important work of undergrowth clearing, the surprising beauty of the site and its harmonious construction were even more emphasized. The citadel is undoubtedly one of the most important architectonic and archaeological monuments of the planet. Located at 2400 meters above sea level, Machu Picchu is made of stone, spreading itself on a low and narrow hill, delimited by a canyon giving on the Urubamba River. After our visit to Machu Picchu, we will return to Poroy train station and depart for Cusco. Overnight stay at the hotel in Cusco.

Day 6: Cusco – Puno

After breakfast, depart for Puno. The breathtaking scenery is a great reason to go on this journey. During the trip you will be amazed by the wonderful landscapes of Andean mountains and the Altiplano. We will also pass through some really interesting Andean villages such as Urcos, San Pedro, Tinta, Sicuani. We will also visit Andahuaylillas, whose main attraction is its baroque church known as "The Sistine Chapel of America" because of the magnificent frescos that decorate its walls. Moreover, you will have the chance to visit the archeological site of Racchi. This remarkable site is composed by many buildings made of adobe, among which the amazing Wiracocha Temple. The highest pass of the trip is La Raya (4312 m of altitude), which is also the limit between the Andean mountains and the Altiplano.We'll then have a nice lunch at a local restaurant and after that return to Puno. Overnight stay in Puno.

Day 7: Puno - Titicaca lake – Puno

After breakfast, we will go on a boat excursion to the Lake Titicaca, from where the legend says that Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo have emerged and founded the Inca Empire. While on the Lake, visit to the Floating Islands of the Uros Indians, whose way of life, costumes and tradition are extraordinary. An interesting particularity of the islands is that they are made of “totora” reeds, a very resistant straw. Later on, we will arrive at the Taquile Island, located at about 35 km away from Puno with 540 irregular steps connecting the village with the landing stage. However, visitors can follow a path surrounding the island providing them with an incredible view over the Lake. After our visit to the beautiful Lake Titicaca and its islets, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant on the island and after that return to Puno. Overnight stay at the hotel in Puno.

Day 8: Puno - Juliaca – Lima

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to the Juliaca airport to board your flight back to Lima. On arrival in Lima, we will depart for a visit at the colonial center. There you will have the opportunity to marvel Plaza Mayor (main square), where Francisco Pizarro founded the city. At the northern side of the square, find the Presidential Palace, where the independence of Peru was proclaimed. At the east, see the Cathedral and the Archbishop Palace. We will also visit the Cathedral, built in 1625 and rebuilt after the earthquake of 1940. We will then carry on to the Convent of San Francisco, in a beautiful colonial architectural style with its cloisters decorated with frescos representing the life of San Francisco and stoneware of Seville. Overnight stay at the hotel in Lima.

Day 9-10: Departure from Lima

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and continue your journey to your onward destination.
